Kate Grenville’s ‘Dark Places’ is a must read for lovers of great English literature together with gripping drama and character
By Joy Stapleton
Dark places is a deeply descriptive narrative about the impact that parental disapproval has on the developing minds of children. It is a very sad psychiatric drama playing within a family. I could hardly put it down as each episode gripped me for its outcome. The final dramatic scenes I was not expecting and they were developed with high drama and a brilliant use of the English language making it such a page turner.I went onto read with equal satisfaction the following but separate novel, ‘Lillian’s Story.”I loved Kate Grenville’s writing style and her amazing use of narrative with beautiful English.
