Beyond TM: a Practical Guide to the Lost Traditions of Christian Meditation
This is a book for those who want to discover the lost contemplative dimension of their Christian heritage. “The writings of Christian mystics and spiritual leaders throughout history are a rich mine of time-tested methods for effective meditation, but to be honest, it is sometimes kind of hard to take out the gold,” says author Marilyn Helleberg. She is a regular contributor to Guideposts.

life-changing
By B.J.
I bought this book in 1981 and began using it immediately. I had tried to meditate before without success, but found this book easy to use and supportive of my faith. Using the book led me to a deeper experience of the Divine and launched me on a life-changing journey that continues to this day. I gave away my copy of the book and now find I want a copy again, so I’m ordering one from Amazon.

Exceptional book on Meditation from a Christian perspective
By Cindy
I’ve studied meditation for years, and benefited from books by some of the best known teachers of meditation: Pema Chodron, Thich Nhat Hanh, Jon Kabat-Zinn, James Finley. But when I was asked to teach a class on meditation at my Presbyterian church, this was the one I turned to the most. It was also the very first book I read on the subject, many years ago. The instruction is simple (as it should be), the guided meditations are beautiful and the language is familiar to my own faith tradition. I highly recommend it!
